The Wine The Wine
Italy
Region:Campania
Just inland of Naples lies the province of Benevento, a small sub-region of Campania. Winemaking here is heavily based on the region's traditional varieties which thrive on the combination of volcanic soil and refreshing coastal breezes. Falanghina is one such variety that loves it here, with unique herbal aromatics and a crisp, mineral texture. It's one of the many lesser-known varieties of Italy but one that we continue to champion having been received so well by our customers for years.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Ivano Emiliani
Ivano's approach to winemaking works in perfect synergy with us. Focusing on vinifying by grape variety, and to extract the purest varietal expression, this gives us a huge palette of wines to play with when it comes to building our own wines. The winery's network of small local growers is vast and so, in any given vintage, there are many small-batch wines available to us, all hand-crafted and benefitting from the immense winemaking expertise of Ivano.
"Falanghina has been part of Campania's winemaking heritage for centuries. Our aim is simply to let the variety shine, preserving its vibrant citrus fruit, distinctive herbal character and refreshing mineral finish in every bottle." - Ivano Emiliani, Winemaker.
