Not the world's best selling Port for nothing this. The Americans go wild about it for a start, and whilst in most things that's an aberration, in the case of port it's a pretty clear indication that this is hot stuff. Lots of sweet, rich, powerful ripe plum and damson fruit flavours with a sweet milk chocolate kick to it and an almost raisiny quality. Absolutely delicious with a smelly bit of stilton.

Veneto is home to a number of Italy's classic wine regions but it is the sparkling wines from Prosecco that currently have a buzz surrounding them. The best sparkling wines have both delicacy and intensity, something we nailed on a recent trip out to see top Prosecco winemaker Sergiu Scobioala. A lovely style of fizz packed with apple and pear fruit and a little leafiness adding to its charm. A citrus led palate and excellent intensity make Senti the perfect aperitif and celebratory sparkler.

Prodezza Prosecco is typically Italian in style - flamboyantly elegant, if that's even possible! This delightful Prosecco is classic on the palate with crisp apple, fresh pear and notes of lemon zest. The bubbles and freshness work in complete harmony, leaving your senses completely satisfied that this now-famous wine style is not a flash in the pan, but here to stay.

Prosecco has been the top selling fizz in the UK for the last few years (even beating Champagne and Cava). It's made from a white grape called Glera, but in 2020 it was ruled that a small percentage of Pinot Noir could be added to the Glera in order to create pink Prosecco! Cue cheers from all directions! And so the Senti Prosecco Rose was born, made from grapes grown in the prestigious Prosecco region, capturing that same enjoyment, refreshment and celebratory spirit that we know you adore.

Everyone has heard of Argentinean Malbec, but Bonarda could be Mendoza's secret weapon. It is Argentina's second most planted grape variety, and whilst it is regularly enjoyed by locals it has yet to find fame on the world stage. It's a lively red variety that is supple, soft and packed with sweet red berry fruit that makes for some excellent easy drinking. Add in a small percentage of rich, fruity Reserve Malbec and you’ve got yourself a winner!

The latest stunning creation from German and his team, fast becoming Chilean masters of the grape. There is a depth of fruit on the nose with the flavours all playing a black card - blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherries are all distinctly noticeable. Layers of vanilla spice and hints of mint mingle with the delicious, ripe black fruit. Everything is wrapped in a blanket of silky tannins. Echoes of the Bordeaux style, but with the thumping, fruit core only the best New World winemakers can produce.

South Australia's McLaren Vale sources truly premium fruit. We've championed the wines from here for a many years and always get first dibs on the best parcels. This is the original wine that kicked off the popularity of the whole 'Black Pigs' range, and it never fails to please our customers (old and new). It has a depth of black fruit that is incredible alongside intense spice and a full bodied style that screams out for grilled meats of all kinds.

There are many things to say about the wonderful charms of Barbera. From its native home in Piemonte there are a plethora of beautifully-made wines that shriek berry juiciness, and possess great balance too. And this version, from Swartland, has similarly direct appeal. It offers a lovely acidity and freshness that skewers all the way through its bright, intense cherry core. It is also an extremely versatile wine when it comes to food pairing. The concentrated sweet fruit makes it an ideal accompaniment to fragrant spiced dishes like chicken marinated in ras el hanout, and the light tannins and natural acidity will sit beautifully against an earthy mushroom risotto.

This little ripper is another superb offering from winemaker David King. A Shiraz with a juicy black cherry and blackberry nose with spicy undertones. The winemaking is first-class and, being family owned and run, they are dedicated to achieving the very best quality. It makes the perfect accompaniment to wintery foods such as grilled meats, grilled vegetables, wild game or even beef stew.

This Mendoza beauty is made from 3 separate parcels of Malbec: one close to the town, one on the valley floor and one on the sought after slopes of Mount Tupungato. All are long-established, family owned sites. They are then masterfully blended by Stephen, who has a rather impressive résumé. He has a long history making wine in some of the top wineries in Bordeaux (such as Châteaux Margaux and Mouton-Rothschild) and in the USA (Harlan Estate) - and he has brought a glamorous Golden State streak to this wine.

We were on the hunt for an excellent Pinot Noir and it was at an extensive tasting with the super-talented Oscar Salas at Vinña Santa Rita that we finally found it. El Sabio is made with superb, full-blooded fruit from the Valle Aconcagua region. It has sweet cherry charm and, although it has typical varietal softness, a small proportion of it was matured in older American and French oak to add roundness and generosity to the wine.

The idea from the outset here was to create a wine that captured the unique characters of the Maipo Andes. We set about selecting the best barrels and got to work in the blending room, settling on Carménère + Malbec in equal measures. The finished wine is lovely and open with just a hint of spice from the Carménère. Ripe and round with plenty of fruit up front and in the middle, well poised with great weight before a long balanced finish. Drinking now and into the next decade.

The four months in barrel has really brought this Tempranillo together. The fruit is really bright, but the oak gives the wine a bit more spice and depth and it works really well. Raspberry, plum and blackberry fruits are overlaid with hints of vanilla, cocoa and cinnamon-style spice.
Billy Bosch Festive Edition Cinsaut 187ml

The red-fruit focussed nose suggests that this is a delightful, gentrified Pinot Noir style wine, yet there is a lot more swagger and power to discover on the mid-palate. The texture is Pinot-like too, but there are surprising spice, fig and tea-like nuances here. The long finish and concentrated sour cherry theme will force you to keep on looking back at the label to remind yourself that this is actually a venerable old Cinsault! Typically this grape is paired with escargot, but if you're not feeling quite that adventurous we'd recommend smoky pulled pork or a grilled Mediterranean veggie pizza.

It is widely acknowledged that - alongside Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon - Zinfandel is one of California's true 'signature' grape varieties. And so, The Intrepid Bear has returned once again to Lodi, harnessing the fruit of revered old vine vineyards to bring body and elegance to this Reserve Zinfandel. It shows both poise and a voluptuous, curvy nature with loads of rich, black fruit, figgy undertones and enough mouth-feel to be truly classy.

By taking two of the stalwart grapes of this region and allowing them to ripen in the Mediterranean climate of Southern France you get an abundance of fruit and spice in the final wine. Grenache makes up the dominant part of this blend, offering up fresh strawberry fruit and white pepper spice, and a small proportion of Mourvèdre brings in some juicy black fruit, earthiness and deeper chocolatey notes.

This most modern rosé may sport a most delicate pale pink hue, but beneath this understated exterior it's bursting to the turrets with sunny, full-throttle, Southern French fruity allure. Strawberry, raspberry, melon and lemon notes abound... this cuvée is designed to delight. Scrumptious with crisp summer salads, or on its own. Enjoy well chilled.

Chenin Blanc has become somewhat of a celebrated beast in the Cape. And with good reason. It's noble enough back at home in the Loire, but takes on different roles in the sunshine of the winelands. Three Gables is a lovely, light-as-a-feather Chenin; not too textured and rich like some of the Swartland styles, but suffused with a lovely delicacy and pin-sharp, beautifully balanced acidity.

This is one of Italy’s sacred white varietals, indigenous to Campania, which has unusual notes of orange blossom and herbs. This example has a wonderful structure, is light enough to cover a diversity of foods but white fish and prawns are perfect. An exciting alternative to Pinot Grigio.

We fought good and hard to get this, with our winemaking team in Oz to help us. We have loads of Remington liked-it-so-much-we-bought-the-company moments and this was one. A wonderful parcel of South Australian Sauvignon Blanc came up, and we bought it all for a knock-off Trotter price. Which is not to say the wine isn't awesome. This one is clean as a whistle and has crisp citrus and tropical fruit allure.

After the roaring success of the '16 Little Black Pigs' Pinot Grigio, we thought we'd create a slightly up-scale version of it with the help of Mr Steve Grimley, our man Down Under. Like its junior peer, this wine is full of easy lemon-infused scents and an exuberant, crisp vitality, citrus fruit at its heart, crunchy acidity, long, lively finish - but all with added intensity. We don't want to complicate a good formula, so we haven't.

Our buyers are always on the lookout for something fresh. Wine styles that push boundaries, engage wine drinkers, open people's eyes that there's a whole host of offerings beyond your staple varieties. This energetic Aussie white is crafted from a varietal native to Madeira, famed for its low yields, (less bunches per vine=increased intensity) plus a racy character - meet Verdelho! Throw some Aussie sunshine into the hat and on top of the natural freshness there's a tootie-fruity tropical quality.

Here winemaker Eric Lanxade expertly balances this blend of perfumed Gros Manseng with racy Colombard and everyone's favourite: zippy Sauvignon Blanc. There is plenty of fruit interest here, with lemon barley, apricot and quince flavours to create a mouth-watering and highly alluring tipple. In fact it's fresher than a dip in the English Channel in January!

Savvie is what the locals call Sauvignon Blanc, so we borrowed it for the name of our new flagship release. Working with the talented winemaker Nikolai St George we've crafted a Marlborough white that is super fresh, fully invigorating and just how we know you like it. The trademark combination of citrus zest, passion fruit and freshly cut grass all work in harmony, providing top-class drinking as an aperitif or pair with a big bowl of mussels and a side of skinny fries.
