Perched high in the cool Elgin Valley, Shannon Vineyards is a family-owned estate founded by brothers James and Stuart Downes in 2000. Across just 10 hectares, they produce finely balanced wines that reflect the region's long, cool growing season and mountain terroir. Their minimal intervention approach allows the vineyards to take centre stage, with their Merlot bottlings regarded among South Africa's finest expressions of the variety.
