Mr and Mrs Auduteau
Château Caruel is a family estate that has been passed down from father to son since the 18th century. Its history began in 1730 with Charles Auduteau, the first winegrower to cultivate these lands. A century later, his grandson Pierre Auduteau gave the estate a new lease of life by expanding it and rebuilding the façade of the manor house. Four generations later, Jean-Hector Auduteau in 1922, then Francis Auduteau in 1960, undertook a major restructuring of the vineyard. They pursued a policy of gradual expansion, patiently acquiring small neighbouring plots and selecting the vines for planting with extreme rigour. Today, Château Caruel is managed by Jacqueline Auduteau and her son Thierry, who are continuing the family legacy with dedication and passion.
