The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Alsace

Pinot Gris from Turckheim in the Alsace is a truly unique expression of this flavour-packed white grape variety. It balances richness with precision, expressing both the variety, a sense of place and top-class winemaking. Expect layers of ripe pear, gentle spice and a subtle smoky edge, all lifted by a pure, mineral spine. It's expressive without being heavy, feels polished yet relaxed, has an easy to enjoy quality with plenty to discover as it opens up.

The Winemaker

Olivier Humbrecht
Winemaker:

Olivier Humbrecht

With a winemaking heritage dating back to 1620, Olivier represents the twelfth generation of his family in viticulture. He took over Domaine Zind-Humbrecht in 1989, the year he earned his Master of Wine title. A pioneer of biodynamic practices since the early 1990s, he champions minimal-intervention techniques to showcase Alsace's terroir, earning global recognition for quality and innovation.

"This is epically fresh on the nose, with aromas of pear, apple and a touch of honey. Elegant and medium-bodied on the palate, with a light yet textured mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish. It is reminiscent of a dry Riesling, approachable right away, with potential to develop further over time." - Olivier Humbrecht, Winemaker.
