The Wine

Country of origin:

South Africa

Region:

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch has long been South Africa's benchmark for fine red wines, where ancient granite soils and cooling ocean breezes help Bordeaux varieties thrive. Myrtle Grove captures that heritage beautifully, blending Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc into a red, packed with ripe black fruit balanced by subtle well integrated oak. Rich yet fresh, it's a wonderfully balanced wine that offers all the hallmarks of a classic Stellenbosch.

The Winemaker

Terence Capes
Winemaker:

Terence Capes

Terence Capes, winemaker for Gabb Family Wines since 2021, began his journey at Elsenburg Agricultural College in Stellenbosch in 2006 before furthering his studies at Stellenbosch University in 2014. He later completed an MBA through Heriot-Watt University in the UK, strengthening his business acumen. International harvests in the USA and Australia broadened his winemaking perspective. A true lover of wine, Terence believes the best wine is simply the one in your glass.

"Showcasing the purity and elegance of Stellenbosch fruit through careful blending and restrained oak, focusing on each variety to create a wine with generous fruit, fine structure and freshness that keeps things engaging and energetic." - Dave Roberts, Wine Buyer.
