The Wine The Wine
France
Region:Alsace
From the sunny vineyards of Alsace, where the Vosges Mountains shelter vines from rain, this Pinot Noir is all about purity and lift. Light on its feet but packed with red cherry, raspberry and a hint of spice, it reflects the region's mix of limestone and granite soils. A smooth, fruit-forward red with just enough earthiness to keep things interesting.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Daniel Gerold
Originating from Alsace, Daniel Gerold was introduced to wine by his father, which eventually inspired him to follow a path towards a career in the industry. After his winemaking studies, Daniel travelled across Burgundy, Champagne and New Zealand, gaining a wide-ranging knowledge of grape varieties, terroirs and techniques. In 2020, he headed back to the Alsace and started to work at Cave de Turckheim.
"Capturing Alsace's hallmark freshness starts in the vineyard, with early harvesting and gentle extraction to retain Pinot Noir's delicate fruit and finesse. The result is a lively, expressive wine shaped by cool nights and diverse soils." - Daniel Gerold, Winemaker.
