The Wine

Country of origin:

Argentina

Region:

Mendoza - Uco Valley - Tupungato

This Malbec is crafted from 100% organic fruit grown at over 1,200 metres above sea level in the Uco Valley. Hand-harvested and made with no added sulphites or oak ageing, it is fermented gently to preserve freshness and varietal character. Sourced from the sandy soils of Tupungato, it delivers vibrant dark fruit, bright acidity and natural balance. Pure, fresh and very expressive, it captures the authenticity of both its terroir and organic winemaking.

The Winemaker

Rodrigo Serrano
Winemaker:

Rodrigo Serrano

Domaine Bousquet was founded in 1997 when the Bousquet family planted high-altitude vineyards in Gualtallary, blending French heritage with Andean terroir. Now a benchmark for organic wines, the estate's winemaking team is led by Rodrigo Serrano, who crafts elegant, expressive wines with a focus on innovation.

"The word 'virgen' is Spanish for 'virgin', a name inspired by the pristine high-desert vineyards of Tupungato where this wine is grown. These pure, unspoilt conditions allow us to farm organically - something we believe is essential for the health of the land, the people who work it, neighbouring communities and generations to come." - Rodrigo Serrano, Winemaker.
