The Wine

Country of origin:

Argentina

Region:

Mendoza - Uco Valley

This Sauvignon Blanc captures the character of the Uco Valley, shaped by high altitudes, long sunny days, stony soils and pure Andean meltwater irrigation. Clean, vibrant and well balanced, it reveals ripe peach and nectarine alongside zesty lemon and tropical mango, lifted by a subtle saline edge. Certified by Argentina's national sustainability programme, it also reflects Zuccardi's commitment to responsible farming, environmental care and social responsibility.

The Winemaker

Sebastián Zuccardi
Winemaker:

Sebastián Zuccardi

Sebastián Zuccardi, a third-generation winemaker, is recognised globally as one of Argentina's top producers. A graduate in Agricultural Engineering from the National University of Cuyo, Sebastián refined his winemaking philosophy through experiences in wine regions across the United States, France, Spain, Italy, and Portugal. His approach centres on achieving identity through terroir and, as his understanding of the vineyards deepened, he realised that excessive oak was masking the grapes' natural character. Today, he prioritises the fruit's freshness and purity, continuing the legacy of his grandfather, Alberto 'Tito' Zuccardi, and father, José Zuccardi.

"With this range, our aim is to capture the very best of the Uco Valley. We source grapes from a selection of sites across the region, focusing in particular on the higher-altitude vineyards where freshness and definition truly shine. Fermentation takes place in concrete vessels to preserve texture and purity, followed by ageing for six to eight months in seasoned French oak barrels. These well-used barrels don't lend oak flavour, but they allow the wine to breathe and evolve gently. The result is a wine that expresses the region's natural purity, vibrancy and sense of place." - Sebastián Zuccardi, Winemaker.
