The Wine The Wine
Chile
Region:Maipo Valley
A premium Cabernet from Pérez Cruz, crafted from their finest estate-grown vines in the Maipo Valley. As the estate's flagship grape, Cabernet is carefully selected using detailed vineyard mapping and expert know-how to ensure top quality. Aged 14 months in French oak, it reveals classic aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, vanilla, spice and eucalyptus. Concentrated yet fresh, with firm tannins and a long, structured finish, this is Maipo Cabernet at its most complete.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Germán Lyon
Viña Perez Cruz is a multi-award-winning winery, receiving rave reviews from customers and wine writers alike. Their immaculate vineyards can be found in the Maipo Valley, long regarded as Chile's premium red-grape-producing region. Their vines are planted on a variety of soil types that imbue the grapes with distinct flavour characteristics. Winemaker Germán Lyon firmly believes that every bottle of wine produced carefully reflects the 'terroir' of Maipo Valley.
"The best quarters of Fundo Liguai are selected through the use of precision agriculture, hand in hand with the years of experience of the Pérez Cruz winemaking team. The harvest is carried out on fresh fruit to obtain clear characteristics of the terroir and the grape variety. The winemaking process begins with a three-day cold pre-fermentation maceration, followed by a traditional fermentation process that seeks to highlight balanced and robust tannins. Once alcoholic fermentation is complete, the wine is put into French oak barrels where it is aged for fourteen months." - Germán Lyon, Winemaker.
