New Zealand
Region:Marlborough
Although Marlborough, New Zealand is well known for producing fruity whites, nestled among the sprawl of vineyards are a few exceptional Pinot Noir vines. Winemaking duo Will and Rachel have really put themselves on the map with this wine! With fruit sourced exclusively from the Quarters Vineyard within the Brancott Valley, they have championed the grape to produce a red that is packed with dark wild berries, damsel plum and cocoa, complemented by a silky-smooth palate.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Will and Rachel Hoare
Will's wine career began with a rebellious streak - selling wine to classmates! Since then, he's worked at Cloudy Bay, Au Bon Climat, and Fromm, gaining expertise in single-vineyard wines. Rachel fell for Chardonnay while working with Burgundy legends. Together, they founded Novum to craft precise, small-batch wines, focusing on "sweet spots" within vineyards. Their Burgundian-style wines are truly exceptional.
"With our Pinot Noir fruit we are driven to make a wine that has great 'pinosity'. By that we mean a wine that is heavily nuanced, fragrant and even pretty." - Will and Rachel Hoare, Winemakers.
