The Wine

Country of origin:

Chile

Region:

Valle Central

Canto del Campo captures the rustic charm and easy-going spirit of Valle Central. This vibrant, medium-bodied red brims with juicy strawberry and ripe bramble fruits, layered with garrigue herbs and a hint of cracked black pepper. Predominantly crafted from País (Chile's traditional heritage grape), with Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon, it's smooth, spicy, and effortlessly drinkable.

The Winemaker

Gonzalo Pérez Abarzúa
Winemaker:

Gonzalo Pérez Abarzúa

Since 2015, winemaker Gonzalo Pérez Abarzúa has brought over 25 years of expertise to Cremaschi Furlotti, crafting wines that embody the true spirit of its terroir. With a background in agronomy, oenology, and research at prestigious institutions like Universidad Católica and UCLA, Gonzalo seamlessly blends innovation with tradition, producing elegant, balanced wines rooted in the winery's Italian heritage. Cremaschi Furlotti's story began in Italy, where Angel Furlotti established the family's winemaking legacy in 1889. Four generations later, the tradition thrives in Chile's Loncomilla Valley, where his descendants create wines that honour their rich history and enduring passion.

Matthew

A decent relatively cheap red, went well with some steak.

George

This is without doubt the worst wine I have ever had from VW. Only scored it a 1 as I didnt have the option to go any lower. Problem is I have another 2 bottles in this case which I will have to use for cooking as it is completely undrinkable.
