While authentically Portuguese in make-up, a blend led by the native and expressive Touriga Nacional, the Vinteiro Dark Douro is of the modern new-wave style where luscious primary fruit takes centre stage. A dark purple in the glass is expressed by rich black fruit with red-berry freshness. Notes of blackberry and spice on the palate enveloped by a soft, rich mouthfeel will partner excellently with bold-flavoured food or work wonders if you prefer a full-flavoured red on the side as you cook.
