The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Rhône - Côtes du Rhône

This blend was put together with winemaker Julien Dugas, using two parcels of grapes from a very special vineyard in the Rhône Valley, neighbouring the famous AOC vineyards of Lirac. The area is so highly regarded that from the 2024 vintage it became the newest appellation in the Southern Rhône - Laudun - and, as such, is a bit of a scoop because that will of course add a premium! It is made up of 60% Grenache Blanc and 40% Viognier and is layered with peach and apricot fruit, lovely peppery spice and an excellent crisp and refreshing finish.

The Winemaker

Winemaker:

Julien Dugas

Julien is a real 'man on the ground', spending any available day out of the winery in the vines with his growers keeping in close contact with the fruit which, in his opinion (and ours), is key to making great wine.

"I was so impressed by the quality of the grapes from this plot of vines when I was first put in touch with the grower and have watched it mature into one of the Rhône's best kept secrets. A concentrated wine with a lovely balance." - Julien Dugas, Winemaker.

Helen

This wine was FAR TOO sweet for us. In fact we had to pour the wine away - which is disappointing

Jo

Super smooth and creamy. Just the right amount of dryness

Christopher

Crisp and mineral finish, not getting as much fruit as others suggest.

Phil

Opened this over the festive period to match the roast chicken we were having with family. It was highly complimented by all - good nose, fresh and slightly acidic - we will be buying again.
