The Wine The Wine

As the sun rises over the Swartland region at the end of summer, winemaker Ryno Booysen and his team are out picking the grapes for this blend. By picking the grapes early in the morning they avoid the harsh February sun, thereby ensuring the fresh, fruity flavours and acidity of the grapes are preserved. Once they are brought into the winery the fun begins - turning grapes into wine and creating the perfect blend (after some experimenting it became clear to Ryno that an equal split between Chenin Blanc, Marsanne and Grenache Blanc was impeccable). The result is a tangy lemon freshness on the nose which follows through to the palate, accompanied by notes of baked apple and barley.
