The Wine The Wine

Region:Gascony
Tuffers' Tipples are all selected by Phil himself, with the assistance of our Head Wine Buyer, Andrew Baker. This Gascogne Sauvignon Blanc grabbed Phil's attention. It has been blended with a hint of Colombard and Gros Manseng, which gives a lovely, lively fresh and crisp dry white wine experience. Floral and elegant on the nose, citrus with a touch of grapefruit on the palate - and a lovely long finish.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Boris Kovac
Originally from Serbia, Boris grew up helping his father in their vineyards. At first he had more fun running through vineyards with his dog than working but, little by little, he began to take an interest in what his father was doing. Over time, he learned about winemaking and was able to help his father in some work in their vineyard, then in the winery. To gain more knowledge he moved to France, after gaining his degree, for an internship at the Institute of Research in Oenology. From here his career grew as a consulting winemaker for many estates in the Languedoc and Roussillon, as well as Australia and South Africa. In 2003 he created Domain de l'Agly in the heart of the magnificent region of Roussillon with 2 friends, and it is now his main focus.
"I enjoy this white as an afterwork aperitif with fresh green olives. It also works beautifully with oysters and all sea food, creamy pastas with chicken, salad with young sweet onions and bacon, or toast with warm goat's cheese drizzled with honey. It is a white for every occasion!" - Boris Kovac, Winemaker.
