We were on the hunt for an excellent Pinot Noir and it was at an extensive tasting with the super-talented winemaker Carlos Torres Silva that we finally found it. El Sabio is made with superb, full-blooded fruit from the Valle Central region. It has sweet cherry charm and, although it has typical varietal softness, a small proportion of it was matured in older American and French oak to add roundness and generosity to the wine.

Carlos Torres Silva
After gaining his degree, Carlos Torres Silva spent 20 years with one of Latin America's leading producers - Conch y Toro. He then used the knowledge that he had gained there to pursue his own projects and now, with over 40 years of winemaking experience under his belt, he is a force to be reckoned with.
