This has become a classic Cape blend for us, much like Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz in Australia. We bring Pinotage's vibrant purple fruit together with Shiraz's sweet spice and gentle smokiness. Packed with bright, jammy fruit, there's also a lovely juiciness on offer as well, before the flavours move seamlessly into a long, balanced finish.

The wine must express where it comes from, you must be able to taste the soil, the quality of the grapes and lastly, hopefully, something from me as the winemaker - you will end up with a wine destined for greatness.
"This blend changes each harvest so that we keep a consistent style but always showcase the best that each season has to offer. For this release, after numerous trial blends, we settled on a 50/50 split of each variety. Big on fruit and layered with spice and with a long, well-structured finish." - Ryno Booysen, Winemaker.
