Sebastian Zuccardi, grandson of the founder, is a winemaker on a mission to change people's perception of what Argentinean Malbec is all about. His belief, and his wines do the talking for him by the most part, is that Malbec is far more than just a brute that needs smothering by new oak to show at its best. He looks to bring the French concept of terroir to his wine, combining a range of soil compositions, vineyard altitude and the use of concrete fermenters and gentle oaking in the winery to bottle what is essentially a pure expression of Malbec from a single place. A multi-layered wine that combines ripe cherry and blackcurrant with delicate notes of menthol and rose.
