At first glance, a wine wrapped up in a comic strip may seem gimmicky? So we talked through the idea with Jurgen and tasted the wines and had to buy them. You'll hear 'wine people' give importance to 'terroir' because it can often give the wine something distinctive and unique. But tasting in isolation, who knows what's terroir and what isn't? That's the point with Capcanes La Nit de les Garnatxes. Four wines, same grape, different soils. The results are surprising, but above all else, delicious!
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Jurgen Wagner
Jurgen hails from Germany and attended the prestigious Geisenheim University where he studied Oenology. As part of his studies he spent his work placement in Tarragona in Spain where he discovered the village of Capcanes and the wines they produced there. After completing his studies he returned to Spain and started working with Capcanes more closely on the winemaking side and turned to full time winemaking at the winery. Jurgen now works with a small but dedicated team to craft the wines.
