The Wine The Wine
Chile
Region:Colchagua Valley
The stellar Coyam from the Emiliana estate in Chile consistently punches above its weight year-after-year. Vegan-friendly and 100% organic, it causes quite a stir in both Virgin HQ and the press alike.. This wine is a fine pedigree, expertly blended to the finest drop but always led by the estate's premium Syrah with a generous dollop of blackcurrant-laden Carmenere and Cab Sauv. The blend is completed with selected components to create a smooth, deeply concentrated red wine, harnessing the individual character of each grape variety. Simply the bees-knees with Sunday roasts.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Noelia Orts
Emiliana is a global pioneer of organic and biodynamic winemaking. Since 1998, it has produced award-winning wines from nearly 1,000 hectares across Chile’s top regions. The world’s largest organic winery, Emiliana is Regenerative Organic Certified®, B Corp certified, biodynamically accredited and fully vegan. Key to its success is winemaker Noelia Orts, whose internationally informed, modern approach shapes several of the estate’s flagship wines.
"Deep purplish-red in colour, with intense aromas that recall cherries and strawberries delicately blended with notes of tobacco, cedar, and rosemary with a light touch of smoke. Juicy on the palate, with sweet, ripe tannins that lend good structure and volume. Fresh and elegant with a lingering finish." - Dave Roberts, Wine Buyer.
