Veneto is home to a number of Italy's classic wine regions but it is the sparkling wines from Prosecco that currently have a buzz surrounding them. The best sparkling wines have both delicacy and intensity, something we nailed on a recent trip out to see top Prosecco winemaker Umberto Menini. A lovely style of fizz packed with apple and pear fruit and a little leafiness adding to its charm. A citrus-led palate and excellent intensity make Senti the perfect aperitif and celebratory sparkler.

Vista do Castelo marries heritage and modern winemaking. As is common in Portugal, this is a field blend using some of the most classic Portuguese varieties, giving this juicy red wine unique floral and red fruit aromas on a super-clean and precise palate thanks to modern winemaking. It's a great glass to have alongside a barbecue, both to sip while cooking and to accompany the grilled food at the table.

Inkpot Limestone Coast Shiraz is a rich, full-bodied red that captures the character of South Australia's cool-climate vineyards. Expect layers of ripe blackberry, dark cherry and a touch of mocha, balanced by smooth tannins and subtle oak spice. It is a great go-to bottle of red that is exceptionally versatile, suited for easy drinking with or without food.

Le Terrain de Jeu des Artistes Malbec 2023

We've been on the hunt for a French Malbec that that is crafted in a focussed modern style that is all about natural fruit character, uncomplicated by oak and has none of that rusticity that has been a trademark of this variety in France for generations. I'm pleased to say that we've unearthed one and it was an absolute pleasure putting the final blend together with Winemaker Guillaume Létang, earlier in the year. The finished wine is packed with blue and black fruit and has the finest silky-smooth tannins.

L'Ornato Pinot Grigio Rosato 2024

Our exclusive L'Ornato is a deliciously crisp and refreshing rosé made from high quality Pinot Grigio grapes grown on hillside vineyards in the picturesque Veneto region in the northeast of Italy. Greek wine carries a rich legacy, with a winemaking tradition that is older than many of today's most renowned wine regions. With Nyra, we pay tribute to that past and the mythical figures that shaped it. Named after the Greek nymph of flowing water, this white blend is a harmonious combination of the native Roditis grape and a hint of Muscat. Much like this strategic manoeuvre, Double Check Chardonnay commands attention with its dual impact of bold flavours and refined elegance. From the first sip, indulgent aromas of butter and toasted hazelnut meet the bright zest of lemon and ripe tropical fruit, creating a symphony of complexity. A portion of the blend undergoes malolactic fermentation, lending a creamy texture, while American and French oak add structure and a hint of warmth. Grown in Chile's alluvial soils, this wine showcases vibrant acidity, balanced richness and a luxurious honeyed finish that lingers long after the glass is empty. The Rum & Crab Shack in St. Ives, Cornwall, does exactly what it says on the tin, serving up great seafood and tasty rum. Dead Man's is a blend of rum from Trinidad and Barbados that is then aged for three years. Dark in the glass this is a right old smugglers' brew with bold and rich flavours of nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla, raisins, sweet sherry and Seville oranges!

Jacob Wilson is one of the youngest Master Distillers in the UK and he has been consulting and helping others get their distilleries off the ground for years. He is finally realising a dream and has just opened his very own distillery (with a little help from Mum, Dad and Sis) near his hometown of Henley-on-Thames in a fabulous old barn. Always true to his hands on approach this expression includes hand peeled orange peel, the finest fresh ginger and perfect pink peppercorn.

This is a small batch artisan spiced rum distilled by our good friend and master distiller Jacob Wilson at his lovely distillery just outside Henley on Thames in Oxfordshire.
