Like the greatest red wines of the world, finding that balance between alcohol, fruit and tannins is just as important in the finest Armagnacs. Mark Darroze, 3rd generation of the Darroze family, when you take Armagnac as the start point of the family history, is now running the show, with his father Francis retired but still a keen participant, and the Grand Assemblage range is his project. His skills as a masterful blender can be seen across the whole range and this 12 year old expression is utterly delicious. Plenty of fresh fruit, layers of richer aged tones and perfectly balanced ripe tannins.
