The Wine The Wine
Australia
Region:Victoria - Heathcote
This a cracking bottle of Grenache crafted by a gem of a producer located in the Heathcote region of Victoria, Australia. It is bright, elegant and beautifully expressive, showcasing lifted red berry and wild strawberry fruit with hints of rose petal and savoury spice. The tannins are silky, and juicy acidity gives balance and freshness. A medium-bodied and vibrant red that lingers gracefully on the palate.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Tobias Ansted
Tellurian was founded by Ian Hopkins’s passion for Heathcote Shiraz. When offered the opportunity to establish a new vineyard on the Mount Camel range in 2002, Ian's enthusiasm was driven by the idea of crafting something fine and beautiful from Heathcote's 550-million-year-old Cambrian soils. Tellurian's winery and vineyards are in the centre of the Heathcote region, a long and diverse winegrowing area - 80kms from north to south. The south is slightly cooler than the north, with wines varying from fragrant and lifted with medium density to more brooding with darker fruit intensity in the north, so you can expect their releases to include a little bit of both.
"Juicy red fruit, wild strawberries and a touch of spice - it's smooth, vibrant and super easy. Silky tannins keep it elegant, while a refreshing lift makes you want to go back for another sip." - Tobias Ansted, Winemaker.
