Nestled amongst the hills of Crete sits the Douloufakis family winery. Now on their third generation of winemakers, they are pioneering themselves as producers of exceptional quality wine from local varieties. Here red grape variety Liatiko takes centre stage. As the most planted grape variety in Crete, it is renowned for creating delicious reds with ripe dark cherry, plum and spice on the palate. Soft tannins and a touch of oak make this wine a real treat for the senses.

Nikos Douloufakis
The tradition and history of the Douloufakis family in vineyard cultivation and production started in 1930 when grandfather Dimitris Douloufakis first established a professional winery in the village of Dafnes in Crete. Today the business is continued by Dimitris' grandson, Nikos Douloufakis, who having studied oenology at Alba in Italy, has renewed the production of superior quality wines from his own vineyards.
"We work hard to champion the native grapes we have here in Greece. This red, made from local grape Liatiko, has been made to preserve the true essence of this variety. With dark cherry, plum and a touch of oak, this is a great red for all occasions." - Nikos Douloufakis, Winemaker.
