The Wine

Country of origin:

USA

Region:

California - Lodi

The Liberty Road Zinfandel celebrates the pioneering spirit of American winemaking. On a buying trip to California, our Head of Buying, Sophie Lord, discovered this gem while meeting the talented Delicato Family Wines Winemaking Team. They've masterfully captured the essence of Lodi's vineyards in a Zinfandel bursting with rich flavours of black cherry, raisin and prune, accented by hints of coconut, cracked pepper and a long, smooth vanilla finish. Perfect for those who savour life's journey, one glass at a time.

Delicato Family Wines Winemaking Team

Delicato Family Wines is one of the fastest-growing wine companies in the U.S. and a family-owned winery with nearly a century of history of farming grapes in California and of crafting superior quality wines. Anchored by a long-term focus, the Indelicato family have infused their culture of integrity, hard work and high standards into the fabric of the dynamic wine company they've built.

"Thankfully we had ideal growing conditions from bud-break through to the onset of ripening, which gave the vineyards the ideal conditions to develop the flavours and colour we would expect from the grapes. The vines were better able to ripen and produce the bright and dark red fruits sought after in our Zinfandel grapes, which was a struggle in the previous vintage due to the statewide fires. A cool blanket of morning air, paired with an evening breeze, allowed the vines to rest a bit at night before taking on the heat during the daytime." - Delicato Family Wines Winemaking Team, Winemakers.
