This wine is a well-balanced blend of two complementary grape varieties - Merlot brings an abundance of savoury spice and a velvety mouthfeel, whilst Cabernet Sauvignon offers a fine tannic structure and aromatic finesse. Some Bordeaux wines can be a little austere in youth, but La Croix de Gaillan strikes the perfect balance with its inviting nose of red berries, cedar, forest floor and a lick of vanilla. When you take a sip it has a frank attack, punctuated by oaky spice.

Originally from the Loire Valley, Olivier is an oenologist who obtained his National Diploma in Oenology from the University of Bordeaux. He was the Technical Manager for 8 years at Laurent Miquel, a producer-trader in Saint-Chinian. He has also been the Technical Director at Maison Cordier.
