  • Soleil, Pierres et Vent (Sun, Stones and Wind) the three words we felt captured the region and project perfectly.
  • A mix of black and red fruit, great depth and concentration, plenty of weight on the palate with a lovely coconut finish.
  • There's a lot of richness in this bottle and, so, equally flavoured foods are a must. Think casseroles, grilled meats and roasted root veggies.
  • ABV: 14.5%

The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Rhône - Lirac

Lirac is one of our favourite regions in the Rhône and when we were invited by winemaker Julian Dugas to blend up an exclusive cuvée using the pick of the cellar's barrels from the 2021 vintage, we naturally jumped at the chance. We spent the afternoon tasting every single barrel and trying different combinations until we had the style of the wine just how we wanted it. We settled on a blend of four barrels, three medium toast 600l ones that we blended with one 228l. The resulting wine has lovely fruit up front, great intensity and length with a finish that has a coconut note that is amazing.

The Winemaker

Julien Dugas
Winemaker:

Julien Dugas

Julien is a real 'man on the ground', spending any available day out of the winery in the vines with his growers keeping in close contact with the fruit which, in his opinion (and ours), is key to making great wine.

"Blending directly from barrel in the cellar was a lot of fun and the finished wine is concentrated with dark fruit and balanced by the toastiness and unmistakable character from time in top-quality oak." - Julien Dugas, Winemaker.
