The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Loire - Chinon

This luscious red comes from a family-run estate that is making a great name for itself in the heart of the Loire Valley. The Cabernet Franc grapes are all handpicked from multiple sites in order to preserve, as faithfully as possible, the different expressions of Cabernet Franc in each of its terroirs: the plains, hillsides and plateaus of Chinon. By the blending of these terriors, Pierre Sourdais believes this wine is a true expression of this appellation. As such he chooses to ferment the grapes in concrete tanks, with no oak ageing, in order to preserve the purity of the grapes.

Customer ratings

Bought 2 bottles of this as really enjoyed previous Cabernet Franc that I had bought. This wine was virtually undrinkable. Got through the first bottle and loads of sediment at the bottom so thought that may have affected the taste. Opened 2nd bottle reluctantly and it was the same. 2nd bottle went down the sink

A bit too peppery for my taste

Very disappointing, below average Chinon, no real body, lacking top notes, quite flat.
