The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Vin De France

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous grape variety on the planet. It originated in Bordeaux and has since spread around the world to every wine producing country. But despite its globetrotting sense of adventure, some still believe that France is where it truly shines brightest. On The Drops Baroudeur Cabernet Sauvignon strikes the perfect balance between New World voluptuousness and classic French finesse.

The Winemaker

Maureen Paillet
Winemaker:

Maureen Paillet

Maureen Paillet came from an agricultural engineering background in Bordeaux, before moving to Montpellier to study for her National Diploma of Oenology and expand her knowledge of viticultural terroirs. She began her professional life by travelling through the vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon, Sauternes and the South-West. She then joined the team of Vignerons Catalans where she works in close collaboration with the purchasing manager and the cellar master with the aim of making the best wines possible from each vintage.

"The Mediterranean climate is perfect for sunshine loving Cabernet Sauvignon. Plenty of heat and cool evenings ensure balance in the grapes." - Maureen Paillet, Winemaker.
