We're big fans of Barbera here. As long as you steer clear of the cheapest, you'll be sure to find some real gems. It has quite a unique varietal character, with a combination of bright red fruit and dark, sweet black fruit, and a bit of oak goes a long way too. Our customers have been exploring interesting Italian reds for years now so it was an easy decision to give our long-time friend, Claudio, a quick call for some top Barbera d'Asti. Very pure cherry and bramble fruit with body and spice. A perfect match for a rare duck breast with a sweet plum sauce.
