Terre Di Chieti Passerina 2017
£11.99
- Abruzzo's Passerina is one of Italy's white grapes you'll never have heard of but, boy, does it deliver a decisive wine in the glass!
- Slightly waxy and herbal in the nose, there's masses of ripeness followed by a refined intensity that makes it pretty gastronomic.
- Most things that swim or crawl in the sea will love this wine. You can go spicy prawns right through to steaming bouillabaisse.

This is Passerina made by the redoubtable Enrico at Feudo Antico. Passerina, like Pecorino, owes its fortune to its recent rediscovery, both being examples of ancient Abruzzo grapes. This little beauty comes up quite aromatic and rich in the glass, but is balanced by both a fresh acid and great mineral notes. This leads to a lovely harmony and balance that is long and rewarding in the throat.
