Shakespeare said it best when he wrote "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". This wine is not a Burgundy - yet it is painstakingly crafted by one of Burgundy's oldest Maisons who use all of their know-how to produce this great wine from the noble Burgundy grape, Pinot Noir. The vineyard actually lies in the Aude Valley, close to the Pyrénées. Here the clay and limestone soils, and cooler climate produce a Burgundian style red but at a fraction of the price.
