The Wine The Wine

This classy red comes from a limestone-rich vineyard that faces north-east. This is a major factor in the style of the wine. In a very hot region, Montsant (on the outskirts of Priorat), grapes can over ripen with ease. But this vineyard receives only the morning and early afternoon sun, enjoying the shade from about 5pm onwards. This encourages a slow and steady ripening season which is what you need for developing complex aromatics, uniform ripening amongst the bunches, and the retention of freshness that gives the wine finesse, elegance and perfect balance.
The Winemaker The Winemaker
Anna Rovira
Anna, an amazing, talented Catalan winemaker, joined Capçanes in 2013. She is also in charge of vineyard control moving Capçanes into organic farming. Anna studied winemaking in Spain and France, and spent half her childhood in her family's vineyards. She is the much needed and highly appreciated feminine element to the team. She favours finesse and elegance, whilst adding a refreshing craziness to our wines - a privilege of her youth. "I love wine, I work with wine. Wine keeps me on the lookout for new things and surprises me daily."
