The Wine

Country of origin:

France

Region:

Bordeaux - Bordeaux AOC

Château du Seuil was acquired in 1988 by a Welsh couple, Bob and Sue Watts, and the traditions they established are carried on by their daughter. Nicola now runs the estate with her winemaker husband Sean, who is originally from New Zealand. You can sense his influence on this wine with its aromatic and fruit-forward style, yet the elegance in the glass is pure Bordeaux. It is made from a blend of free-run juice and direct pressing of Merlot grapes, which are then fermented in stainless steel for maximum refreshment. It is an excellent rosé for all year round, which works as an aperitif or an accompaniment to food.

The Winemaker

Charles Medeville
Winemaker:

Charles Medeville

Charles Medeville is a young winegrower who took over the Château du Seuil vineyard in 2021. Coming from a family of winegrowers, he brings his personal touch while respecting the unique and complex profile of this century-old property.

"This rosé is a blend of two traditional techniques: direct pressing rosé and bled rosé. This gives it both freshness and character." - Charles Medeville, Winemaker.

Not a big fan of roses, but enjoyed this one. Easy to drink. Clear raspberry and citrus flavours
