This wine is all about deep mulberry and damson fruit with a sleek full body, the perfect amount of ripe tannic grip and a streak of tangy red fruit on the finish to keep things dynamic. There is much more than that raw power to enjoy from this cracking bottle of New World Shiraz and it is a great wine to match with food. Make sure you keep the flavours bold and punchy so they can stand up to the big character of the wine. Think rich stews and well-seasoned pies.

The latest stunning creation from Germán and his team, fast becoming Chilean masters of the grape. There is a depth of fruit on the nose with the flavours all playing a black card - blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherries are all distinctly noticeable. With layers of vanilla spice and hints of mint mingle with the delicious, ripe black fruit, it's no wonder this vegan wine is so renowned. Everything is wrapped in a blanket of silky tannins. Echoes of the Bordeaux style, but with the thumping, fruit core only the best New World winemakers can produce.

Nero d'Avola lends itself perfectly to winemaker Fabrizio's approach here. The appassimento method, a winemaking technique using passito (dried) grapes, has been a revelation for us in recent years. Fabrizio's Nero d'Avola grown on his coastal vineyards has a natural freshness that you just wouldn't want to hide with too much overly rich passito wine, but a careful blend of the two creates something unique but balanced. Fresh bramble fruit with a touch of liquorice, raisin and sweet spice. Complex yet incredibly drinkable.

There is a real skill required to make delicious rosé and French vignerons have now come to understand that to make refreshing rosé one must specifically 'think pink' and prepare to pick the grapes earlier than for red wine. Harvesting starts third week of August for this rosé, with grapes being picked in the early hours of the day, before the sun reaches its peak. Once in the cellar, the grapes are pressed directly and the pink-tinted juices are transferred to chilled tanks to keep the delicate aromas and luscious flavours at their most intense.

Brio, though a word without a literal translation, is about liveliness, vivacity and energy. That's what this classic Italian Pinot Grigio is all about. Forget everything else; this is a wine that is made to be enjoyed without any pretence. Fresh apples and ripe pear on the nose, fruitful on the palate with a lightness of weight that makes this the ideal aperitif wine.

Some of our customers may recognise our beloved Taceo label. Taceo, which translates to 'keep quiet', is only used when we come across a truly exceptional parcel from a producer who would like to remain anonymous. Often snuck out of the side door of the most prestigious cellars in the world, this Margaret River Sauvignon Blanc Semillon fits the bill of Taceo perfectly. Expect a wonderfully rich white, packed to the brim with ripe tropical and green fruit. Complex and gastronomic, this is an ideal wine to bring along to any dinner party. Just remember to keep the secret of where it came from - shhh!

Wine may be considered art by many, but it's the science behind each particular vineyard that shapes the character of the finished wine: location; climate, soil plus that little enigmatic something that the French call "terroir". This Sauvignon Blanc hails from a fine single site in a unique desert-influenced location, where searing sun coaxes the grapes to perfect ripeness, whilst cooling breezes provide welcome coolness, imbuing the fruit with great depth of flavour. It shows tight and bright tropical fruit but remains restrained and controlled with a lovely refreshing edge to it. A singular expression of a unique and special place.
