The demand for this winery's coveted Durif is so high that most interested parties are relegated to the waiting list indefinitely. However, thanks to our direct relationship with the producer, we’ve skipped right to the front of the queue and got ‘First Refusal’ on this exceptional parcel of top-class Swartland rarity. The Durif is intensely flavoured and deeply fruited, which we need to temper a little with a splash of high-class Shiraz that adds a little signature fresh blackcurrant and peppery spice to the mix. Rich and rounded, the finish is long and sumptuous.

Semillon, originally known as the grape of Sauternes, has made a fantastic new home down under. In the Barossa Valley, with its warmer climate, they have reinvented Semillon in the classic Australian style. With lifted aromatics of orange blossom, lemon, and sugar snap peas, it is the perfect refreshing tipple for all occasions. Served chilled alongside a seafood salad or chicken satay for the ultimate treat.

This Chenin-Blanc-led white is part of our brand-new Iziza range from South Africa and it's one we're really excited about. This project started 18 months ago and the wines finally arrived with us early in 2024. Aromatic complexity with a savoury twist are the hallmarks of this wine's aromas and it has a beautiful balance between rich, moreish depth and refreshing brighter notes. This is a contemplative white with a lovely texture and an additional pineapple punchiness which keeps things bright and fresh.

Ana has not held back here when we asked if she'd like to create a small-batch, exclusive Vinho Verde to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Virgin Wines. Her expertise and passion for the Loureiro grape are unparalleled in the region. And it is so clearly evident from the first pour, with huge varietal expression, notes of grapefruit, white flowers, lime and gooseberry. The mouthfeel has a moreish fruit sweetness and the finish is crisp, refreshingly dry and long. Thanks Ana!

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most popular white wines on the market and, with its invigorating acidity and aromatic fruit, it's easy to see why. Sadly, some wineries started bottling one-dimensional juice to meet demand, but Kahaka is from a winemaker with a superb pedigree and is a true expression of this premium nectar. It is fresh and lively with complex layers of flavours ranging from lime and cut grass, elderflower and wet stone, all the way through to mango and passionfruit. This is a perfect example of what Marlborough is really about.
