El Zumbido ('the buzz') is a local nickname for the wind that whistles through the vines up in the hills of Cariñena. This wind is critical to the style of this Viura. Ripened well in the Spanish sun, the grapes develop lovely peach aromas backed up by pear. But it's the El Zumbido that keeps the wine from becoming overripe and sticky, delivering an integral freshness that completes a very moreish wine.

It's a wonderful thing when a good idea is exported and becomes something a little different, fruitier, and just a little bit richer. This is our Down Under version of the Italian classic that we are all very proud of here at head office. This has turned out beautifully, sporting lovely lemon-fresh fruit with crisp-apple vitality, born in the spirit of La Dolce Vita, and ready to be drunk as an aperitif or with white fish.

This region is red-hot in terms of hype and is home to many of the Cape's most exciting winemakers. Here the dry-farmed vines produce tight crops of excellent-quality grapes. Billy Bosch Highwire Chenin Blanc is made from the finest dry-grown bush-vines. Winemaker Jacques Theron harnesses this naturally formed nectar to create an enigmatic and characterful white with plenty of weight. Pear and orchard fruit leads on to a seamless citrus and mineral-laden finish. Simply ravishing.

The vines from which these grapes come are planted on alluvial river plains with minerally, rich soils. These are great for the cultivation of full-flavoured and elegant wines like Trois Calices.
Beneficio Winemakers Selection Barossa Valley Shiraz Viognier 2025
- ABV: 13%

When the winemaker Steve Grimley first started his winemaking career, he was obsessed with France's Northern Rhône. Many years later he has taken inspiration from the Northern Rhône to create this Shiraz Viognier blend. By adding a dash of high-end Viognier, he has created a polished feel to the wine's texture, bringing out more of Shiraz's berry fruited charms. This results in a wine abundant with complex notes of leather, black pepper, blackberry, and nutmeg. This wine has truly earned its place in the Beneficio range!
Zio Mario Appassimento 2024

-
Grape type:
Other Red Grapes -
Wine style:
Fruity Reds -
Winemaker:
The Lorusso Family -
Italy:

As one of the first in the UK to introduce the appassimento style, we know this wine well, and we know even better how much our customers love it! There's always room for evolution though and it was during a tasting that came the lightbulb moment. Malbec. This is a grape that has a natural and unique blueberry-style freshness that we thought would elevate the decadent appassimento style seamlessly. The problem was finding an Italian appassimento producer that grew Malbec too. But we found them! And this is it, a traditionally rich appassimento with a Malbec lift. Almost certainly a first.
Cascading Cloud Special Reserve Merlot 2025
- ABV: 13%
- Vintage: 2025
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Merlot -
Wine style:
Fruity Reds -
Winemaker:
Arthur Basson -
South Africa:
Coastal Region -
At its best:
Now - End 2027
This cracking Merlot is from carefully selected vineyards in the Coastal Region of South Africa's Western Cape. This exclusive release is wonderfully fruit-forward and showcases this classic Bordeaux variety's plum fruit character and natural juiciness. During the blending, we used a little parcel of oaked wine to give the finish a lick of sweet spice and add both texture and complexity. It is silky smooth to the finish and great with or without food.
MLBC Earth & Sun Malbec 2025
- ABV: 12.8%

Wine style:
Full Bodied Reds -
Winemaker:

There are few more dramatic vineyard sites than those of Mendoza. The name of this Malbec (Sun & Earth) reflects the fabulous volcanic vineyards and extraordinary sunlight quality that the Andes gifts this wine. The altitude of the vineyards brings clarity of light, water (from snow melt) and clean air, and moderates the high temperatures. This creates the perfect conditions for this wine to showcase concentrated fruit along with exceptional elegance and freshness.

This little ripper is another superb offering from winemaker Frank Mollo. A Shiraz with a juicy black cherry and blackberry nose with spicy undertones. The winemaking is first-class and, being family owned and run, they are dedicated to achieving the very best quality. It makes the perfect accompaniment to wintery foods such as grilled meats, grilled vegetables, wild game or even beef stew.
Pizo Garnacha 2024
- ABV: 13.4%
- Vintage: 2024
- Size: 75cl
-
Grape type:
Grenache / Garnacha -
Wine style:
Fruity Reds -
Winemaker:
Alvaro Campos -
Spain:
Cariñena -
At its best:
Now - End 2028
The Pizo series is all about varietal character. The location of the vineyard, its altitude and the soil type all play an important role in allowing the fruit here to express everything it can and should. The long days of Spanish summer sunshine mean the fruit can gradually but thoroughly ripen. The altitude keeps the temperature in check so there's no chance of over-ripeness. And then there's the slate-rich soils which give the wine a clear and defined structure with a mineral texture to the palate.
