The core of the wine focuses on a wonderful parcel of McLaren Vale Shiraz, loaded with blackcurrant fruit and delicate spice with time in oak that has softened any rough edges. The finishing touch is given by an inspired winemaking decision to add a splash of super dense and concentrated Durif, which fills out the mid-palate and amps up the juiciness before the long, silky finish takes control.

Nestling on the Right Bank of the Dordogne, the medieval city of Saint-Émilion is as well known for its beautiful old stones as for the wine from its surrounding vineyards. To be given the title ‘Grand Cru’, the wines of the Saint-Émilion appellation must follow a very demanding series of guidelines, tested by a second tasting before bottling. This wine is therefore exceptional in its own right, but what makes it extra special is that this Grand Vin wine by Maison Ginestet is made from grapes sourced from a Grand Cru Classé estate.
