Our 25th anniversary has been an amazing opportunity to take a moment to reflect on some of our longest-standing, most rewarding relationships with growers and winemakers, not least that of Victor Manzanos. We've created and shipped so many different wines with Victor over the years, much-loved by our wine-loving customers, but the jewel in the crown has to be this wine. Because he likes us, Victor stashed away this 2010 Gran Reserva years ago, knowing it was an exceptional vintage and would age beautifully, with a view to releasing to you while at its peak and in celebration of our 25th anniversary. We are very grateful, and very excited to get this wine out to our customers to celebrate with us!

A carefully assembled Rhône red using small parcels of truly exceptional wines expressing the unique characters of each appellation, in this case, the wonderful Cairanne area. For us it is one of the Rhône Valley's best kept secrets (they do still just about exist in the wine world) and represents excellent value for money, delivering true bang for buck and able to hold its own against the regions much more famous and illustrious powerhouses. Exceptionally plush, layered with spicy red and black fruit and a long, perfectly balanced finish.

The core of the wine focuses on a wonderful parcel of McLaren Vale Shiraz, loaded with blackcurrant fruit and delicate spice with time in oak that has softened any rough edges. The finishing touch is given by an inspired winemaking decision to add a splash of super dense and concentrated Durif, which fills out the mid-palate and amps up the juiciness before the long, silky finish takes control.

Winemakers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo, brothers from a family with over 150 years of winemaking experience, have skilfully created this white from some of their old vines.
