A luscious, fruit-laden McLaren Vale red that brings together signature Aussie Shiraz and leading Rioja varietal Tempranillo. Ana has not held back here when we asked if she'd like to create a small-batch, exclusive Vinho Verde to celebrate our 25th anniversary at Virgin Wines. Her expertise and passion for the Loureiro grape are unparalleled in the region. And it is so clearly evident from the first pour, with huge varietal expression, notes of grapefruit, white flowers, lime and gooseberry. The mouthfeel has a moreish fruit sweetness and the finish is crisp, refreshingly dry and long. Thanks Ana!

Oaky Chardonnay can split opinions, but when done properly the toasty oak underpins the naturally fresh fruit and it is something of true beauty and refinement. Think top end, classy Burgundies like Premiere Cru Meursault or Puligny-Montrachet. Here the balance is perfect: clean, bright citrus flavours nestled against toasted nuts and a long, smooth finish. The oak does not overpower the natural freshness of the Coonawarra fruit but instead works in harmony, making this a true masterpiece.

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is one of the most popular white wines on the market and, with its invigorating acidity and aromatic fruit, it's easy to see why. Sadly, some wineries started bottling one-dimensional juice to meet demand, but Kahaka is from a winemaker with a superb pedigree and is a true expression of this premium nectar. It is fresh and lively with complex layers of flavours ranging from lime and cut grass, elderflower and wet stone, all the way through to mango and passionfruit. This is a perfect example of what Marlborough is really about.

Castillo de Logrono Familia Manzanos Barrica Rioja Blanco 2024

This glorious white Rioja is made from a blend of Viura and Chardonnay grapes which are planted on calcareous soil (the terroir famous for producing top quality, long-lived whites in Burgundy and Champagne). Meticulous attention to detail was taken in the vineyard and then in the winery, culminating in 5 months in a mix of American and French oak barrels. The result is a white with plenty of vivacity, and rounded, rich flavours of butter, toast, nut, pear & baked red apples.
