Visiting these cellars can be truly inspirational and has led to the creation of our Magic Cellars series, where we celebrate the skills, art and magic of winemaking. This one-of-a-kind cuvée was blended in the cellar (albeit not a dusty, dark cave underground) in the heart of South Africa’s Swartland region, bringing together Shiraz, Malbec and Touriga Nacional. A deliciously full red with dense black fruit and a long, silky-smooth finish.

The Pizo Cariñena is a deep-coloured, velvety wine with ripe black fruit galore. It gets its richness from very carefully limiting the yields in the vineyard, excellent soils and the ideal climate. The character it gets when expertly cultivated like it is here gives ripe bramble fruit, spice and earthy aromas. Its dark nature helps it match up beautifully with heavy dishes like beef stew and strongly flavoured game meats.

After the roaring success of the 16 Little Black Pigs Pinot Grigio, we thought we'd create a slightly upscale version of it with the help of Mr. Steve Grimley, our man Down Under. Like its junior peer, this wine is full of easy, lemon-infused scents and an exuberant, crisp vitality, citrus fruit at its heart, crunchy acidity and a long, lively finish - but all with added intensity. We don't want to complicate a good formula, so we haven't.

The Pizo series is about expression of varietal character and, at over 650m above sea level in the foothills of the Iberian Mountains, this is a perfect spot for vines to show their true charm. The south-facing aspect ripens the grapes with ease but the altitude keeps freshness at the forefront of the wine. Pizo Garnacha Blanca has an elegant combination of citrus and white flower aromas with a subtle mineral background. On the palate it has characteristic herbal notes and sour pear. Do not hold back - this is a stunner.
