Deanston is a Highland distillery on the bank of the river Teith, near Doune in Perthshire. It sits in a converted mill that once housed the biggest waterwheels in Europe. It is still powered by hydro-electric turbines using the original lade (mill race)! Stylistically, Deanston makes for a gentle, more mellow spirit. This 12 year old has a nose of malty cereal, creamy toffee and honeyed heather balanced with sweet oak and a smooth creamy sweetness with malty honeyed spiciness and soft vanilla on the tongue.
