We've been collaborating with the super-talented winemaker Jacques Theron for several harvests, focusing on wonderfully fruit-forward wines from top-class vineyards across the Cape. This expertly blended multi-varietal red combines black and red berry-filled Shiraz with rich, fruity Cinsaut, and a dash of dark, inky Mourvèdre to round everything off.

Le Pont de Diable Grenache Syrah 187ml 2023

We blended this up with talented winemaker Cedric Ragues once the wines had finished bubbling after the 2021 harvest on a darn cold January morning. We used two lovely parcels of Syrah, one a big fruity number and the other juicy and fresh. The last piece of the puzzle was a cherry and raspberry-filled portion of Grenache. It's a lovely fruit-forward wine that has been allowed some time to rest and meld together before bottling and it is showing all of its southern French charm through berry fruitiness and lovely rounded, balanced tannins.

Pinot Noir is an invariably tricky grape to grow but it has found a stable home here in California. This new offering from winemaker David Brown delivers on all counts. True to its varietal typicity, there's raspberry and wild strawberry fruit aplenty in the Vinitor, nestled alongside some welcome earth and spice. With its trademark pale garnet colour, vibrant acidity and soft, mellow tannins, this soft and sumptuous Pinot is guaranteed to please.

This Pinotage is the perfect balance between upfront, spicy, red fruity flavours and wonderfully warming notes of liquorice and cherries. We have been working with Alecia for a few years now and each vintage, she delivers wines of exceptional quality and value from her Swartland vines. These are older vineyards, all dry-farmed, producing tight crops of excellent grapes. It's no wonder that this region is the go-to place for those in the know!
