The name comes from the winemaker's latest venture, the rearing of big black pigs for making his very own version of Iberico bellota ham. Using fruit sourced from his personal contacts in the Clare Valley, winemaker Steve Grimley's team has produced a smooth, mouth-filling wine. A revelation if you're more used to the thumping, ostentatious style typical of the more traditional Aussie fare.
Right from the start, we knew that we weren't happy with the quality of the off-the-peg Aussie brands. Step up Steve Grimley, a visionary young winemaker. We both realised that we'd need to tailor-make wines for Virgin, to get the best from Down Under.
We have now been working with Steve and his Fuse team for more than a decade blending up precisely to our stylistic needs. They have consistently supplied excellent wine with the flavour profiles we have developed together for our customers, from everyday standards right through to the more funky and esoteric. A great partner.
Type: Shiraz / Syrah
A great Shiraz - the sort that really gives you a tingle on the tongue and a warm rosy glow in the stomach. Jammy flavours at the forefront and a peppery kick to finish things off. The kind of wine that would floor a side of beef in seconds.
Using fruit grown in the viticultural heaven that is Maipo Valley, Chile. Roberto Carranca has created a wine rich in jammy black fruit flavours. Perfect served alongside some posh sausages or a well seasoned steak.

This is our most successful Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon without a doubt. The 1500+ positive reviews speak for themselves! Its concentrated blackcurrant flavour profile is wrapped in a silky tannic duvet thanks to the time spent in 'A grade' oak barriques.
