Guess where this attractive Champagne copycat comes from? West Sussex. It's true! With a little help from some great summer seasons and a handful of French experts, top-class wines such as this have begun emerging from the Ridgeview vineyards. Made with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this fresh, accessible bubbly is a real talking point and a serious contender to its over-the channel neighbours.
The Ridgeview Estate in West Sussex is dedicated solely to the production of the highest quality sparkling wine from traditional Champagne varieties and methods, with winemaker, Michael Roberts, at the helm.
Fruit characters are very dominant with Chardonnay bringing not only citrus & grapefruit characters, but some tropical fruit. Brioche flavours will continue to develop and deepen over the next 2-3 years. Lovely, fine mousse with a light gold colour. Ready to drink now or keep for 3-4 years.
Limited edition (less than 4000 bottles!) available of stunningly precise, mouth-smackingly fruity, sparkling Verdelho. Made in the classic Champagne method ('Methode Cap Classique' as it's known down in South Africa). Perfect alongside salmon blinis!
Type: Other white grapes
This is the must-have fizz for any time you are entertaining. It makes one of the best aperitifs we've ever tasted, partnering all sorts of canapés. It can stand up to spicy dishes for mains. Or serve it with a fruit strudel!
We bought everything they made of this, apart from a small stash they've kept for themselves! Perles du Seuil is a wonderfully fruity alternative to Champagne that we are very taken with. You will be too!
