The wines of Romania are getting better and better with each vintage, so we embarked on an exclusive project with long time winemaking friend Hartley Smithers to showcase the premium wines being produced. For the Syrah we carefully selected parcels of estate grown fruit, from the best vineyard sites and set about turning it into something really special in the winery. We are thrilled with the results. Not only is this a superbly pure Syrah, loaded with blackcurrant fruit, hints of liquorice and lovely balanced oak, it is truly exceptional value for money too. A genuine rival, pound for pound, to the great Syrahs produced in the Northern Rhône and Australia's Barossa Valley.
