In the heart of Veneto, the capital of Soave production, we find Edoardo Lessio with his wealth of winemaking experience. The new offering of Soave is just as vibrant, made with the racy Italian grape Garganega. Underpinned by almonds, crunchy apple and the prominence of pear, this delightful wine is as fresh as a daisy, to be enjoyed solo or relished over three hour lunches. Its versatility knows no bounds, so would be right at home with simple dishes such as fresh egg pasta or haddock fish cakes and radicchio salad.

Once defined by its light and spritzy green wines, in the last decade Vinho Verde has undergone something of a revolution. Producers like Quitas do Homem have been making top-end examples which are less frivolous and a lot more polished. This is a perfect example of this progression: pure and elegant at its core. An aromatic nose filled with fresh lime citrus, tropical fruit and a touch of green herbs. This is followed by a live and vibrant acidity on the palate with a long and persistent finish.

Founder Dr John Forrest is still very much involved in the day to day running of the estate but his daughter Beth is taking on more responsibility and we worked very closely with her on this exclusive project. Carefully blending up from small batches to get to the right flavour profile and style we know our customers love. This rosé is driven by Pinot Noir with a little support from the somewhat obscure Italian variety Arneis. Packed with ripe strawberry and raspberry fruit character and a palate that finishes with a crunch and leaves you looking forward to your next sip.

Beth Forrest has perfected the art of creating a delicious, full flavoured Pinot Noir with a naturally lower level of alcohol. And it's all done sustainably, in the vineyard! By slowing the vine's ability to make sugar (but not its ability to make flavour) she ends up with less than 10% abv in the final wine. It then spends 8 months in premium French oak barriques, just like any other quality Marlborough Pinot Noir. The emphasis is on delivering the mouthfeel and texture that standard alcohol levels would deliver, while keeping alcohol levels in single digits.
