Low & No Alcohol Wines

Mountain View Marlborough Rosé

The team over at Forrest Estate in New Zealand are the masterminds behind Mountain View. Founder Dr John Forrest and daughter Beth have been working tirelessly over the years to perfect their formula for lower ABV wines that achieve all the body and flavour of a standard wine. The genius behind their work is that they achieve all of this using traditional processes in the vineyard and winery!

Producing naturally low alcohol wines without drastically altering the winemaking method is no easy task. The biggest obstacle the team at Forrest face is getting the right balance of sugar and acid, which requires diligent vineyard work and strict temperature control during fermentation. Their attention to detail and years of hard work has paid off, with an outstanding range of top-notch 9.5% ABV wines.

The Mountain View Marlborough Rosé is their latest offering – fresh and lively, it’s a real flavour explosion of strawberries, sage and thyme, with a crisp and dry finish. Everything you’d expect from a high quality vino, but with a much lower alcohol level.

Semi-sparkling with a gentle fizz, the Fritz Muller Zero Alcohol Frizzante is something quite special. Winemaker Jurgen Hofmann uses cutting edge technology to remove every trace of alcohol without touching the aromas and flavours of the wine itself.

Full of crisp apple and zesty lemon, it’s a great alternative to Asti or Prosecco, and fantastic in a cocktail. Definitely worth a try if you’ve got something to celebrate and looking for a guilt-free glass of fizz to toast with!

Alcohol Free Spirits

Seedlip Non-Alcoholic Spirits

Seedlips creator Ben Branson was inspired to produce non-alcoholic spirits with a difference when he discovered an age-old book of herbal distillate recipes. He began by playing around with indigenous herbs grown in his garden with a small copper pot-still in his kitchen and after several trials he knew he could recreate the age-old formulas with his own spin.

The Seedlip Garden 108 is delicious served with just tonic or soda water over ice, and garnished with fresh mint and a wedge of lime. Or if you prefer your gin and tonic with a spicy edge, try the Jamaican allspice-led Seedlip Spice 94. Both have quickly become the go-to base for all manner of ‘mocktails’, for the drivers and non-drinkers amongst us.

Borrago #47 Paloma Blend

Borrago is a non-alcoholic spirit that is totally unique. However, we think it works best if you treat it like a top-quality gin. Complex and layered with subtle flavours and incredible smoothness, you really do feel like you’re drinking a spirit!

We recommend serving with tonic water over ice and garnishing with a slice of fresh lemon or lime. The botanicals, which include lemon, cardamom and rosemary, are steam distilled separately and then carefully blended together to create a unique alcohol-free spirit. Superbly refreshing, it displays wonderful aromas of citrus fruits and peppery spice.

CleanGin

Next up we have a fresh and spicy offering from The Clean Liquor Company. Prepared by a master distiller in small copper pot stills, this is an authentic low alcohol spirit with traditional botanicals like juniper, coriander, lemon, orris and angelica root. These classic gin flavours are accompanied by aromas of cardamom, grapefruit, peppermint, ginger and cinnamon, and it makes a beautiful G&T. You’d never know it contains over 30 times less alcohol than a standard gin.
