Meet Steve Grimley (nope, not the little boy, that’s Steve’s son). He’s our main man Down Under, and a name and face many of our Aussie wine-loving customers will certainly recognise! The brains behind our most popular Australian ranges – including Five O’Clock Somewhere and Black Flag – Steve is nothing short of a wine legend.
Based in the ridiculously cool McLaren Vale region, Steve has worked in wine his entire adult life, collaborating with winemakers and artists across the region to craft wonderfully rich and complex wines in striking bottles. We’ve been lucky enough to work with Steve for a long time now, with Black Pig being the first big endeavour we worked on together back in the day.
Affectionately taking its name from the black pigs that Steve keeps on his estate, the Black Pig wine range was born – and was an immediate hit with anyone who tried it. It also marked the beginning of a long and successful partnership between Steve and our very own Wine Buyer, Andrew Baker – a partnership which has seen Black Pig evolve and grow in popularity over the years to become the award-winning collection we see today.
